Non-Pharmacologic Studies

Good healthcare involves so much more than just taking the right medicine. It includes things like eating right, staying physically active, stimulating the mind, maintaining social contact with others and sustaining emotional well-being. But how is it possible to maintain this type of care for people with cognitive impairments and their caregivers? And what is the best way of achieving this care? Non-pharmacologic studies focus on answering these questions.

Current ADRC studies are investigating ways that physical exercise and mind stimulating activity can enhance patient and caregiver health. Plans for new non-pharmacologic research projects at the ADRC are always underway.
