Education and Outreach

At the ADRC we strongly believe in doing research for the benefit of all whose lives and work are affected by Alzheimer's disease, Mild Cognitive Impairment or Age-Associated Memory Impairment. For this reason, the ADRC staff host educational programs and participate in outreach initiatives that focus on providing patients and caregivers with accurate and current information about these conditions.

What are the services included in Education and Outreach?

  • The ADRC web site that is continuously updated to reflect the latest research information.
  • The ADRC newsletter that addresses relevant information for patients and their families.
  • Free educational seminars about Alzheimer's disease, Mild Cognitive Impairment and age-associated memory impairment open to the general public and held at NYU Medical Center.
  • Free talks about memory and cognitive impairment conducted in the community - at adult care facilities, naturally occurring retirement communities, religious centers etc in the New York City area.
  • Free memory screenings conducted in naturally occurring retirement communities in the New York City area.
  • Educational talks about Alzheimer's disease, Mild Cognitive Impairment and Age-Associated Memory Impairment for professionals.
  • NYU ADRC staff participation in conferences and workshops addressing care and research for people with Alzheimer's disease and Mild Cognitive Impairment.
