Welcome!

Through the work of researchers and clinicians, it is now possible to identify three different levels of memory impairment. Memory problems that are part of the aging process, problems that signify a more serious condition, such as mild cognitive impairment, and memory problems that indicate Alzheimer's disease.

The following pages provide information about how memory works, the different levels of memory impairment, care and treatment options currently available for each condition, and the work being done to find more effective treatments and cures in the future.
