Angelica Maria Perez, Ph.D.

Multicultural Aging and Dementia Research Program

Angelica M. Perez, Ph.D., is a Research Assistant Professor at the ADRC, and the Co-Director and Coordinator of the Multicultural Aging and Dementia Assessment Program. The general goals of the Multicultural Program are to provide diagnostic services, caregiver counseling and education, and access to clinical trials research to an ethnically-, racially-, and socioeconomically-diverse patient population.

Dr. Perez recently completed an NIA-funded study focusing on Latino’s perceptions and interpretation of symptoms of mild cognitive impairments and symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease, and on coping behaviors for these conditions. Dr. Perez is currently studying Latino and Caucasian family caregiver’s perceptions of initial signs and symptoms of cognitive impairments presented by their family member who was later diagnosed at our Center.
